The views of Drupal
As I experiment with Drupal more and more, I find little things I love. I recently had a love affair with Joomla!, but now that I've actually taken on doing a few sites back-ended Drupal, I understand and see the power it truly possesses. It's really outstanding for people that are fluent in PHP, and really want low level granular control of things. I'm currently working on the portfolio section of mbu Creations, and am loving the power I have with Views. Since most "posts" inside Drupal are nodes, Views allows you to pull the nodes dynamically and display them however you want. I'll probably post more after I've gotten the portfolio fully operational, but I'm so happy I didn't initially do the site with Joomla!
Don't get me wrong, I think Joomla! is a great CMS for those that need something simple, quick, and easy. It's really easy to throw up a site, and have some robust tools to take control of all publications, posts, and pages of the site. The interface is also easier for those less web inclined. But, for a truly powerful site, I'm all for Drupal.
